Co-operatives Fortnight 19 June - 3 July - BE PART OF IT?!
Dear friends, colleagues and co-operators
You may well have already heard that Co-operatives Fortnight ‘hits’ the calendar for the first time in June/July this year.
Co-operatives Fortnight is a call for people to do things differently – to work together as individuals, colleagues, communities and businesses.
It is the time for everyone who cares about co-operatives to show that there is an alternative and the East of England Co-operative Society is proud to be part of the first ever Co-operatives Fortnight. For 14 days, co-operatives and community initiatives across the economy and up and down the country will be showing that there is an alternative.
The East of England Co-operative Society is planning to hold three ‘Building Co-operative Awareness’ days to show to the wider public what co-operatives are all about and demonstrate them in action!
We are holding the days as follows:
Ipswich – Wednesday 23rdJune – Cornhill Forecourt, Ipswich Town Centre – 11am to 3pm
Colchester – Thursday 24thJune – Co-op Stanway Store, car park – 11am to 3pm
Norwich – Tuesday 29thJune – The Forum Concourse, Norwich Town Centre – 11am to 3pm
We hope that, with your help, we can set up a ‘co-op fair’ with individual Co-ops, Credit Unions and co-operative organisations each having a table/stall/display which demonstrates what you are about as a co-operative organisation.
Surrounding this we will have our own exhibition trailer with Fairtrade demonstrations and food tastings plus music, drumming and co-operative activities. We aim to make a big co-operative ‘splash’ on the prime locations we are in!
It will only work if you join us!
If you, as a co-operative organisation, would like to come along and set up your bit of ‘co-op life’, we would be delighted. We would like a strong showing from co-op businesses, credit unions and co-operative organisations such as the Woodcraft Folk and the
Co-operative Women’s Guild.
You may get this more than once (apols!) and I would be grateful if you forward on this invitation to relevant colleagues, businesses and friends in the co-op sector.
We look forward to hearing from you and together making that ‘splash’ that will set the co-op waves rolling!
If you are interested in coming then complete this form and send back to the address on the form
Best wishes
